AED's required in Indiana Health Clubs

Beginning on July 1, 2008, all health clubs that have at least 50 members or 30+ pieces of mechanical equipment must install and maintain an AED onsite. Mandated by Bill 134; Chapter 15 of IC 24-4, this new law will affect over 700 clubs throughout the state. Additionally, all health clubs are required to have trained staff and provide regular AED maintenance.

The new law applies to all health facilities, including spas, sports centers, weight control studios, and gymnasiums in schools, colleges, and universities. Indiana now joins eleven other states that require AEDs in health clubs.
